Blige always sings like it's a psychological imperative, a riveting performer with a fiercely loyal fan base. But the real story here is the first major tour by D'Angelo in more than a decade. Once a rising R&B star, he's been pretty much missing in action since the tour behind his 2000 album, "Voodoo," so this return to the spotlight is something of an event. 7 p.m. Thursday at the United Center, 1901 W. Madison St., $39.75, $49.75, $85.75, $125.75, $150.75; ticketmaster.com.
