( January 17, 2013 ) The orchestra's annual tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. brings several firsts, including the conducting debut of operatic bass-baritone Eric Owens in Barber's Adagio for Strings. Music director Mei-Ann Chen will lead works by Lena McLin and Aaron Copland (Clarinet Concerto, with Anthony McGill, principal clarinet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, as soloist). Also, the Mosaic Choir will sing gospel songs.
