Comic-Con 2018: Here’s your Wednesday schedule
Comic-Con International kicks off Wednesday, July 18, with a preview night that is ideal for attendees looking to get their badges early without the horror of massive lines.
There usually isn’t much to do on Wednesday night, but it’s a good time to get prepared for the next four days by getting signed in. Also, its an opportunity to attend a low-key event.
Preview Night begins at 6 p.m. and features a pilot screening of “Manifest,” a TV show coming out in September on NBC that deals with a flight that mysteriously disappeared for several years. Two of the events are off site at the San Diego Central Library and Horton Grand Theatre.

Teaching with Comics
Peter Carlson (Green Dot Public Schools), Susan Kirtley (Portland State University), and Antero Garcia (Stanford University) lead this hands-on workshop for integrating comic books in your classrooms. Using contexts from k-12 to higher education instruction and communities of comic scholars, this action-packed workshop guides participants through approaches to teaching comics and teaching with comics while including the voices of Nhora Lucia Serrano (MIT Press), Johnathan Flowers (Southern Illinois University), and Ben Bolling (University of North Carolina) to share key strategies, theories, and scholarship on comics pedagogy. Warner Bros. sneak peak
Comic-Con and Warner Bros. Television proudly continue their annual Preview Night tradition with an exclusive pilot screening of the new series “Manifest,” plus an advance screening of the following week’s episode of “The 100” exclusively for the Comic-Con audience. On top of all this, the evening will include a special world premiere of brand-new episodes from season 2 of “Freedom Fighters: The Ray,” which will later stream on CW Seed. Ballroom 20, 6 p.m.-10 p.m.
New Line Cinema
Be the first to see footage from some of the company’s eagerly anticipated 2018-2019 horror films and hear from special filmmaker guests. Horton Grand Theatre, 9:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.
