'Youth in Revolt'

Director: Miguel Arteta — A bitter teenage boy sets his sights on winning the heart (among other things) of a girl he hardly knows and becomes a "youth in revolt" to impress her. Why: Judging from the source material, this might be the film that finally pushes Michael Cera beyond his usual shtick. Plus, screen veterans Steve Buscemi, Jean Smart and Ray Liotta can't hurt. Oscar chances: Cera is far from demonstrating the acting chops to win a nomination, but with the Weinstein Co. behind "Revolt," the film's chances increase by leaps and bounds.
