'The Square' star Claes Bang wrote a speech his character gives in the film when auditioning for the role

In auditioning for the lead role in “The Square,” Claes Bang wrote a speech that ended up being used in the film. Bang recited the speech at the end of the third of three casting sessions, just as Östlund was about to send him off.   Bang plays a museum director unveiling a controversial new installation on what turns out to be a dark and hilarious day. Mark Olsen wrote that the 2017 Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or winner is a “subversive satire about power and privilege in the art world,” before sitting down with Bang for an interview.
