A trio of new releases have ended the reign of “Despicable Me 2” over the home video market, according to rankings from Rentrak.

The Vin Diesel sci-fi sequel “Riddick” was the best-selling DVD and Blu-ray title in its first week in release, coming in ahead of the White House drama “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” and the horror remake “Carrie.”

“Despicable Me 2,” the animated comedy that topped the list for five straight weeks, fell to fourth place.

“Riddick” is the third installment in the “Chronicles of Riddick” series, which began with the 2000 release “Pitch Black” and continued with 2004’s “The Chronicles of Riddick.” The latest -- written and directed by David Twohy of the first two films -- received mixed reviews and generated about $98 million at the worldwide box office.

“The Butler,” about an African American man who serves a long line of presidents, generated nearly $168 million in ticket sales around the world.

“Fruitvale Station” debuted in fifth place on the DVD/Blu-ray chart, while the new “Riddick: The Complete Collection” landed at No. 6 and “You’re Next” entered at No. 7.
