“Monsters University” was at the top of its class in its freshman week in the home entertainment market.

The hit prequel to the 2001 Pixar computer-animated family film “Monsters Inc.” topped Rentrak’s DVD and Blu-ray sales chart. This comes after the movie, again starring the voices of Billy Crystal and John Goodman, took in more than $268 million at the domestic box office.

In rentals, the DreamWorks-produced and Fox-distributed animated movie “The Croods” topped the list, beating “Monsters University.”
