Actor Hugh Jackman brought his one-man stage show to Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater on Saturday in a benefit and live auction that raised $1.85 million for the Motion Picture & Television Fund.

The “X-Men” star performed his critically acclaimed one-man song and dance show for a packed audience of 3,200 people, sharing stories about his life and performing numbers from shows including “Les Miserables,” “Carousel,” “The Boy From Oz” and “Guys and Dolls.”

After a surprise 45th birthday celebration for Jackman, the audience participated in a live auction that raised $170,000 for the MPTF, a 92-year-old charity based in Woodland Hills that provides healthcare and social services for entertainment industry workers and their families.

VIP guests were then treated to an after-party at the Annex. The evening raised $1.85 million for the MPTF in ticket sales and through the live auction, the fund said in a statement.

Jackman’s involvement with MPTF began in 2007 when he first performed and co-hosted the organization’s “A Fine Romance” – an event celebrating the love affair between Broadway and Hollywood.
