“American Idol” creator Simon Fuller is singing a new tune – just for children.

The producer’s musical kids’ show “The Meeps” will premier Wednesday on Kabillion, a video on-demand channel targeting children.

The program, created and executive-produced by Fuller, features computer-animated animal-based characters in a music group.

As a teaser video on YouTube shows, the band members include a lion who sings and dances in an open shirt and a giraffe that plays guitar in a Slash-esque top hat. In the video, the band plays a revved-up version of the 1960s tune “Do Wah Diddy Diddy.”

“I have been thinking about creating a fun animated music group for many years and now I have finally got round to it,” Fuller said in a statement.

Fuller is best known for producing “American Idol” and “Pop Idol” and for managing real-life music acts including the Spice Girls.
