“Sleepy Hollow” “Almost Human” and other current Fox TV shows are coming to Microsoft’s Xbox One, as the network offers its Fox Now online streaming app on the new video game console.

The Fox Now app allows Xbox Live Gold subscribers to watch full streamed episodes of the network’s prime-time shows, including “The Simpsons” and “New Girl,” as well as programming from its Animation Domination High-Def late-night series, many within hours after the initial airing.

Fox’s app is available across a variety of digital platforms, from smartphones and tablets powered by Apple, Android and Windows software, to Samsung’s Internet-connected Smart TV to the Roku streaming device and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 game console.

Bill Bradford, Fox’s senior vice president of digital, said the network began providing its shows on these new devices a year ago, through the Fox Now app, to allow existing cable and satellite TV subscribers to watch shows on their mobile devices.

The app has been downloaded more than 5 million times across the nine platforms. It is an authenticated experience -- meaning users must provide their login and password to demonstrate they’re video subscribers who’ve already paid for access to the Fox shows.

Viewership reflects the evolving digital media landscape, in which audiences choose to watch video on a variety of screens.

“It’s actually pretty broad,” Bradford said of the digital audience. “It’s not just a young kids thing anymore, to access content on these platforms.”
