Cinchcast Inc. -- parent company of BlogTalkRadio, which bills itself as the Internet’s largest social broadcasting platform -- has landed a big name to help chart its future.

Sports heavyweight Steve Bornstein, chief executive of the NFL Network, is joining the Cinchcast strategic advisory board.

“I am excited to be working with the Cinchcast team at such an important time in their growth and development,” Bornstein said in a statement. “From a media perspective, I have not seen a platform that has the ability to scale high-quality content and audience so cost effectively. I look forward to helping guide the future expansion of the business.”

Bornstein previously spent 22 years at ESPN and ABC, where he worked his way up the ranks to become chairman of ESPN and president of ABC Inc. He is expected to help guide the expansion of BlogTalkRadio beyond its current 21 million monthly users on 1,000 channels.

Former Thomson Reuters CEO Tom Glocer is also joining the Cinchcast strategic advisory board.
