The Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles matchup Sunday was no contest on the field -- and a runaway winner in the prime-time ratings.
NBC's Sunday Night Football, which presented the Eagles' 54-11 victory, drew an average of about 16 million viewers and a rating of 5.5 among key 18-to-49-year-olds from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST, according to early numbers from Nielsen.
Despite the blowout, the numbers were up from last week's game, going by the preliminary Nielsen figures that are not adjusted for time zones and typically understate live sports ratings.
Not much was happening on the other major networks.
ABC aired a rebroadcast of "The Sound of Music" -- the classic movie version, not the NBC live version -- which brought in an average of 6.5 million viewers and a rating of 1.3 with the advertiser-desired young-adults, building on last year's telecast of the musical in both measures.
With a lead-in from an NFL game that ran into prime time, CBS' "60 Minutes" drew 10.1 million viewers and a rating of 1.8.
Fox showed all reruns.
