‘Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show’ rules TV Twitterverse

Turns out lingerie and the Internet were made for each other.

The “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show,” which aired on CBS, generated the most Twitter conversation of any prime-time television show during the week of Dec. 9, according to Nielsen’s Twitter TV rankings.

An audience of more than 8 million people saw some 1.5 million tweeted remarks about the Victoria’s Secret runway show, which also ranked as the top-rated telecast of the night among young adults.

ESPN’s airing of the presentation of the 2013 Heisman Trophy to Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston attracted an online audience of 5.6 million people exposed to some 350,000 tweets.

Fox’s “American Country Awards,” which gives fans the opportunity to vote for their favorite artists, rounded out the top three most social shows of the week. Nearly 270,000 tweets reached a Twitter audience of about 4.9 million.
