Makeup artist Carola Gonzalez gave Kerry Washington a dreamy look inspired by the ethereal quality of the actress’ blush-toned Marchesa gown.

“The inspiration came from the delicate dress,” says Gonzalez, who combined velvety matte skin, purple lids and pink cheeks for a look that seemed as soft as the floral embroidery on Washington’s gown.

Gonzalez added a glowing sheen to Washington’s matte skin with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light, dusting it along her upper cheekbones, forehead and chin.

Gonzalez then brought out the pink and purple hues of Washington’s gown by applying a mauve shimmer shade from Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Exhibition to the inner corner of her eyes and the lids. She put Ardell Natural Lashes in 110 into Washington’s natural lash line and swept them with three coats of Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara for added drama.

To get that feminine, rosy-cheeked look, Gonzalez used Lancôme’s Blush Subtil in Sparkling Rose on the apples of the cheeks and swept up toward the temples.

Washington’s pink pout was achieved with Hourglass Extreme Sheen Lip Gloss in “Truth.”
