Lupita Nyong’o, who was the sartorial star of the Golden Globe Awards in her red Ralph Lauren cape gown, is wearing Gucci to the SAG Awards tonight.

It’s a turquoise silk crepe column gown with gold and turquoise floral embroidered straps. Nice, but not the stunner that the Globes look was.

Nyong’o’s dress does speak to one of the evening’s big trends though. Blue is giving red a run for its money as the cool red carpet hue.

Morena Baccarin’s royal blue tulle cap-sleeve Monique Lhuillier gown is one example. And Mindy Kaling is wearing a draped blue jersey cowl-neck gown by L.A.-based designer David Meister.

But my favorite is Amy Adams’ electric blue Antonio Berardi.

It may be blue but it’s red-hot.
