'Her,' 'Great Gatsby' nominated for Costume Designers Guild Awards

"Her," "12 Years a Slave" and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" are among the nominees for the 16th Costume Designers Guild Awards.

Nominated Wednesday for excellence in contemporary film were Suzy Benzinger for "Blue Jasmine," Casey Storm for "Her," Wendy Chuck for "Nebraska," Consolata Boyle for "Philomena" and Sarah Edwards for "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty."

Vying for excellence in period film are Patricia Norris for "12 Years a Slave," Michael Wilkinson for "American Hustle," Kurt & Bart for "Dallas Buyers Club," Catherine Martin for "The Great Gatsby," and Daniel Orlandi for "Saving Mr. Banks."

Nominees for excellence in fantasy film are Ann Maskrey, Richard Taylor and Bob Buck for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," Trish Summerville for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," and Gary Jones and Michael Kutsche for "Oz: The Great and Powerful."

Outstanding contemporary television series nominations went to Jennifer Bryan for "Breaking Bad," Tom Broecker for "House of Cards," Susie DeSanto for "Nashville," Lyn Paolo for "Scandal" and Tom Broecker and Eric Justian for "Saturday Night Live."

Nominated for outstanding period/fantasy television series are John Dunn and Lisa Padovani for "Boardwalk Empire," Gabriella Pescucci for "The Borgias," Caroline McCall for "Downton Abbey," Michele Clapton for "Game of Thrones", Debra McGuire for "Phil Spector" and Janie Bryant for "Mad Men."

Vying in the excellence in commercial costume design category are Nancy Steiner for "Call of Duty: "Ghosts Maskede Warriors," Julie Vogel for Dos Equis "Most Interesting Man in the World Feeds a Bear" and Donna Zakowska for Fiat "British Invasion."

The Costume Designers Guild Awards will be presented at a ceremony Feb. 22 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
