Oscar Watch: 'Moonrise Kingdom'

The latest effort from filmmaker Wes Anderson -- about a young boy and girl who fall in love, run away and have a grand adventure on an island off the New England coast ¿ earned an original screenplay nomination for Anderson and co-writer Roman Coppola.

Anderson has two previous Oscar nominations -- another original screenplay nod for "The Royal Tenenbaums," which he shared with Owen Wilson, and an animated feature nomination for 2009's "Fantastic Mr. Fox." The "Moonrise Kingdom" screenplay faces stiff competition this year from front-runners "Amour" (Michael Haneke) and "Zero Dark Thirty" (Mark Boal). Other contenders include "Django Unchained" (Quentin Tarantino) and "Flight" (John Gatins).
