For four seasons, Emmy Rossum has played Fiona, the duty-bound matriarch of the especially dysfunctional Gallagher family on Showtime's "Shameless."
Contending with a father (played by William H. Macy) that drinks his life away, and a mother long absent, Fiona is the unkempt glue keeping things together for her five younger siblings.
Rossum will visit the Los Angeles Times on Friday to take part in a live chat at 2:30 p.m. PDT to discuss the evolution her character underwent in the dramedy's fourth season.
It was a dark season for the Fiona character, spiraling in her addiction for chaos and finding herself behind bars after her younger brother overdosed from a bag of cocaine she left unattended.
We'll talk to Rossum about the bleak moments her character endured this season, and how that fits into the series switching into the comedy category.
