Anne Hathaway flattered by comparison to Amal Clooney

Anna Hathaway had no idea people thought she looked like George Clooney’s wife, the former Amal Alamuddin.

Think long-haired Hathaway to see the striking resemblance get a bit sharper...

The “Song One” star was presented with the comparison during an interview with “Extra’s” Tracey Edmonds, who asked if the actress knew she’d been likened to the British barrister whom the perennial bachelor wed in September.

“I’ve never heard that, but thank you!” the 32-year-old said. “That’s, like, so going to be the best thing that happens to me today.”

The Oscar winner then showered praised on her doppelganger, 36, who is a human-rights lawyer and United Nations commissioner. (Golden Globes host Tina Fey and Amy Poehler recently put in their two cents about Amal’s philanthropy too when hubby George won the Cecil B. DeMille Award.)

“I hope that I become half the woman that she is — she’s so accomplished, and it’s so thrilling to look at someone and be like, ‘Wow, you really are making the world a better place,’” Hathaway gushed.

“Song One,” which Hathaway stars in and co-produced with husband Adam Shulman, hits theaters Jan. 23.
