Anne Hathaway is pregnant. Anne Hathaway is wearing a red bikini. And Anne Hathaway herself is showing off her baby bump in said red bikini.

The Oscar winner took to social media to share a shoreline pic of her expectant self over the holidays for one simple reason: She didn't want the paparazzi to get it out there first.

"Happy 2016 to my beautiful Instafriends!" the 33-year-old wrote Sunday on Instagram, captioning the photo of herself smiling big and posing in front of crashing waves. Then she delved into the unconventional snapshot's back story.

"So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed," she explained. "I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter :) Wishing you love, light and blessings for the year ahead!"

The star of "The Intern" is expecting her first child with husband Adam Shulman, whom she married in 2012 after four years of dating. Reports of the pregnancy broke in November and her belly growth has been chronicled in paparazzi images over the past few months. However, her weekend snapshot is the first official confirmation from the actress that she's expecting.

No word yet on the "Les Miserables" star's due date.
