Crooners Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have split after four years of marriage.

Country music’s “it” couple, who have repeatedly poked fun at tabloid rumors about their relationship woes since striking up their romance, announced their split in a joint statement to the Associated Press on Monday.

“This is not the future we envisioned,” the statement said. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”

A rep for Lambert told the Los Angeles Times that the couple is divorced and declined to comment further.

“The Voice” mentor, 39, and the country darling, 31, wed in May 2011 on a ranch in Texas Hill Country after a year of engagement that capped about five years of dating. Shelton said that he fell in love with Lambert in 2005 when they performed “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma” together and the superstar couple has performed several duets together since.

Shelton reportedly filed for divorce two weeks ago and a judge is said to have signed off on the petition on Monday. TMZ reported that Shelton filed the documents in Oklahoma; the pair had a prenup in place and have worked out their financial matters, which include him getting their ranch in the Sooner State and her getting their family home in Nashville.

Over the weekend, Lambert made headlines for crying onstage during her performance at Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming. The petite singer broke down while singing her Grammy-winning hit, “The House That Built Me,” a song originally written for Shelton that was passed on to her to sing. The song was featured on her 2009 album “Revolution.”

According to concert footage, Lambert began the song then started crying, asking the crowd to finish off the lyrics for her.

Meanwhile, the “Doin’ What She Likes” singer spent his Sunday at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in New Hampshire where he was spotted still sporting his wedding ring. By Monday, once reports broke that the divorce was finalized, TMZ said that the singer would no longer be wearing the band.

The candid Twitter users haven’t mentioned one another much on social media in months, according to Gossip Cop, and skipped the online salutations on their four-year wedding anniversary on May 14 and Shelton’s 39th birthday on June 18.
