Chris Brown speaks out from jail, with help from Karrueche Tran

Chris Brown, who’s been behind bars since the middle of March, got a message out to the world via a call to off-and-on girlfriend Karrueche Tran, who posted video of the phone recording Monday night on Instagram.

“I’m just calling all my fans, and y’all know I love y’all, thank y’all for all the support,” the R&B singer says via speakerphone. “Thank you for everything, you know.

“The new video just came out, so I hope y’all enjoy that, and most importantly K, Karrueche, I love you. So, thank you.”

Tran, who’s been in and out of Brown’s life for years, has on occasion accompanied the singer to court, including to a Feb. 3 probation hearing during which -- despite Breezy’s October arrest in Washington, D.C. -- the judge chose not to jail him, citing his progress in court-ordered 90-day rehab.

Brown’s legal fate -- and his freedom situation -- changed March 17 after he was booted from rehab (again). Then it was directly to jail, do not pass go, pending an April 23 hearing to decide whether a Washington, D.C., arrest on suspicion of assault constitutes a violation of his parole in the 2009 Rihanna beating.

One complication: He’s due in D.C. on April 17 for a trial in that misdemeanor assault case, and there’s debate over whether he’ll be cuffed and shipped via law-enforcement transport or cut loose from jail so he can take a regular flight back East. His attorney, Mark Geragos, is fighting for the latter.

Tran was rumored to have broken up with Brown (again) after she reportedly learned that his ex-girlfriend and assault victim Rihanna had visited him at rehab in late January. However, judging by the new phone call it appears that CB and KT are back in love (again).
