Kirstie Alley makes Clint Eastwood’s day: ‘I LOVED it!’ [Poll]

Share

If Clint Eastwood proved Thursday that the Republican Party has least one friend in Hollywood, Kirstie Alley proved Friday that Clint Eastwood has at least one Hollywood friend in the Democratic Party.

“I just saw Clint Eastwood’s speech and I LOVED it!!,” Alley tweeted early Friday. “Funny as hell & on point!!..& I’m a Democrat..US media is SO biased in favor of Dems.”

Add a conservative actor pal too: “I thought Clint Eastwood’s presence was electrifying and I praise him for being a Hollywood actor & taking a stand!,” tweeted Janine Turner. “Thanks Clint Eastwood!”

“He spoke from the heart with a classic improv sketch which everyone at the convention loved,” Mitt Romney advisor Stuart Stevens told the New York Times. Stevens was reportedly one of two aides who cleared the actor’s speech.

Alley’s onetime “Dancing With the Stars” cohort Tom Bergeron wasn’t in step with her, however, calling Eastwood’s speech — in which the actor ad-libbed and addressed an empty chair that represented President Obama — “the biggest bait and switch since the Trojans got a horse.”

Eastwood was the Republican National Convention’s mystery guest, filling a slot that had sparked guesses earlier in the week ranging from Tim Tebow to Rush Limbaugh to a hologram of President Reagan.
