Danity Kane reportedly reuniting without Diddy

Danity Kane, the all-girl music group that got its start on MTV’s “Making the Band,” is reportedly reuniting -- without its patriarch, Diddy.

The girl group, which earned fame with singles including “Damaged” but later broke up amid management issues in 2009, is said to have taken a meeting with a new manager, according to TMZ. Four of Danity Kane’s five original members -- Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, Dawn Richard and Aubrey O’Day -- took the lunch meeting at the Grove in L.A. on Monday. Fifth member Wanita “D. Woods” Woodgett was not at the lunch.

The band, which launched in 2005 on the third season of the MTV competition series, had signed with Diddy’s Bad Boy label and released two No. 1 albums, one that was self-titled in 2006 and another called “Welcome to the Dollhouse” in 2008. But they were fired by the mega-producer in 2009 except for Richard, who became a member of Diddy-Dirty Money and later self-released a solo album, Billboard reported.

Sources told TMZ that the reunion was “definitely happening” but when asked if Diddy was involved in their latest project, the girls grunted and said no. O’Day replied, “Who’s that?”

Pshhhhh.

Anyway, they are reportedly going to maintain Danity Kane as the group’s name. It is unclear who owns the rights to it, the site said, so a potential legal battle could be on the horizon.

Meanwhile, Diddy was musing on Instagram about his size in proportion to his 767 jet.

What do you think of a Danity Kane reunion? Can they reclaim their 15 minutes of fame without Diddy? Sound off in comments.
