George Clooney-Amal Alamuddin wedding pictures emerge

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin made a beautiful bride and groom as they said their vows in Venice, Italy, on Saturday night, according to pictures from the wedding ceremony that are being published in a couple of magazines this week.

The newlyweds grace the covers of People and Hello!, which both have pictures that were unavailable to the photographers who followed the couple and their guests around the canals of Venice over the weekend. In addition to the wedding itself, the celebration included multiple gatherings Friday through Sunday and was capped by a civil service on Monday to make the vows legal.

The vows were traditional and the rings were platinum, according to People, which put the ceremony at about 30 minutes. And, yes, there was a lengthy, crowd-pleasing kiss, the mag said.

About 100 guests from more than 30 countries attended, Hello! said.

“George and Amal radiated love all night,” said Baria Alamuddin, mother of the 36-year-old bride. “The wedding was so unbelievably special, it was legendary.”

OK, she might be a little bit biased, but seeing her lawyer daughter say “I do” doesn’t happen every day.

We’ll give the same slack to the father of the groom, Nick Clooney, who during the ceremony said, “George and Amal present us with ... belief that in this place and at this moment, love is alive and well,” People reported.

“It feels pretty damn great” to be husband and wife, the younger Clooney told Hello!

The groom wore a Giorgio Armani tux, as previously revealed, while the bride wore a lacy custom Oscar de la Renta creation with a long, flowing veil echoing the train of the gown. His cufflinks were a custom-made gift from his Lebanese-born betrothed, who had them engraved with “George” in Arabic.

A different look at the gown showing the fullness of the skirt can be seen in a shot from the final fitting published by Vogue.

For the reception, Alamuddin changed into a different look from the same designer’s fall 2014 collection, E! News reported. The party dress, with updated ‘20s-influenced fringe, was shortened to mid-thigh so she could dance, the mag said.
