Jillian Michaels is engaged to Heidi Rhoades, revealing her emotional proposal during Tuesday's episode of "Just Jillian."
"The Biggest Loser" star popped the question "about four months ago," she revealed on Twitter after the episode aired. Michaels proposed during a movie date featuring a home-video montage that reflected on their relationship. The footage, which was shown during the season finale of the trainer's E! reality series, culminated with family and friends holding up signs that asked "Will you marry me?" according to E! News.
"I know I'm an ... all the time, but if you'll continue to put up with me, I would like you to marry me," Michaels, 42, said before showing Rhoades her own engagement ring, which happened to be larger than her partner's.
Michaels picked out an 8.86-carat eternity band for herself in the episode and a more modest band for Rhoades, to go with the sizable diamond ring the trainer had given her longtime partner in 2012, People said. Michaels' band boasts 17 half-carat emerald-cut diamonds in a platinum setting while Rhoades' eternity band is microset with with 153 diamonds totaling 0.74 carats, the mag said.
"Heidi is the perfect person for me. The only place where there's like a solace ... a safe haven is with my family," the fitness guru said, reflecting on the proposal. "And Heidi is the nucleus of that family. She's the glue that really holds everything together and I think without that, I would be lost."
Rhoades took to Twitter to share her joy, tweeting: "I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for the outpouring of love and support. You guys are the absolute best."
The Michaels and Rhoades began dating in 2009 and share two children together, daughter Lu, 5, and son Phoenix, 3.
