One way to get Justin Timberlake to sing at your birthday party: Be JC Chasez, and be 40.

The ‘N Sync gang got together Monday night in Los Angeles to celebrate Chasez’s journey over the hill, posing for a snapshot that hours later had notched well over a half-million likes on JT’s Instagram page.

“JC's 40th... And, if you don't know now you know…,” Timberlake wrote on the photo, which shows Lance Bass in the back and, in front from left, Chris Kirkpatrick, then the birthday boy, Joey Fatone and the “SexyBack” singer.

Though reunited in a sense for the get-together, ‘N Sync disbanded in 2002.

Unfortunately, having Timberlake on the mic didn’t mean “Happy Birthday to You” sounded any better at celeb hotspot the Nice Guy than it does at any party. (Witness an Instagram video of a bit of the droning, via TMZ.)

On the flip side, not all of the boys in the band are “men” just yet. Chasez joins only Kirkpatrick, who’s 44, in the 40-and-older club. Timberlake, Bass and Fatone are still clocking in at 35, 37 and 39 respectively.

And while there’s no way to predict for sure when the band members will “reunite” again in the future, it was announced in June that a Walk of Fame star awaits them in 2017. So it’s not “Bye Bye Bye” forever.
