Sage Stallone’s mom talks of his recent dental surgery, pain meds

Sage Stallone had major dental surgery two weeks before he was found dead at home, according to his mother, who said she warned her son against having five teeth pulled on the same day.

“I told him not to do that. I’ve heard about people dying having multiple procedures done to your mouth. Do not have more than one tooth [pulled],” Sasha Czack told the New York Post on Monday.

Czack suggested to the Post that it was possible her son was taking painkillers following surgery.

The 36-year-old actor, writer and producer was found Friday afternoon by his housekeeper. An autopsy was conducted over the weekend, the coroner’s office said, but cause of death has not been determined pending results of toxicology and other tests.

Coroner’s staff removed some prescription drugs from Stallone’s home Friday afternoon, The Times reported. Reviewing some prescription drugs is not uncommon in the course of a death investigation.

“When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain,” father Sylvester Stallone said in a statement Monday requesting an end to speculation about the cause of his son’s death. “Therefore I am imploring people to respect my talented son’s memory and feel compassion for his loving mother, Sasha.”

A closed-casket funeral has been scheduled for Saturday in Brentwood, according to ET. Sly and Sasha — who have a second son together, Seargeoh — were married from late 1974 through early 1985.
