Uma Thurman’s ex Arpad Busson reportedly sues her over child custody
Uma Thurman has reportedly been sued by former fiance Arpad Busson over custody of their 2-year-old daughter.
The Oscar-nominated actress and her former beau, a French hedge-fund financier, have been engaged twice, calling it off in 2009 and again in April after reconciling in 2011. They had welcomed daughter Luna -- whose full name is much longer than that -- in July 2012.
The long-distance nature of the relationship, with her in New York and him in London, was cited as a cause of the more recent breakup.
“It is unfortunate that this very private discussion regarding Mr. Busson’s visitation rights and his participation in decision-making has been made public,” a Thurman rep said in a statement obtained by People and other outlets on Wednesday.
The rep was “optimistic” that the former couple would reach a fair agreement out of court.
The case was filed in Manhattan District court by Busson, whose business is headquartered in London, the New York Daily News said. Records are automatically sealed in matrimonial court, where custody cases typically are argued, the paper said.
