Paula Deen dropped from Food Network after making racist jokes

Earlier in the week, Food Network souffles slumped as one of the network's most recognizable stars revealed that she openly made racial slurs and used the N-word. In an effort to clean up the mess, Deen posted (and later removed) a teary apology to YouTube after skipping a scheduled appearance on the "Today" show and blaming her Southern roots for her bad behavior. The network found her excuses hard to swallow — it announced Friday that it will not renew her contract when it expires this month.
