Watch the wicked trailer for ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6

Behold, the Season 6 trailer for “Game of Thrones” has arrived and it’s chock-full of the stuff you love about the show: sex, violence and moody singer-songwriter covers of Chris Isaak songs.

(WARNING: Spoilers for “Game of Thrones” Season 5 follow.)

“Game of Thrones” has rarely been out of the cultural conversation since “Mother’s Mercy,” the Season 5 finale, in which the series ostensibly killed off co-protagonist Jon Snow in an unseemly bit of mutiny within the Night’s Watch.

But as one might expect in a universe that sees the dead find new life in a variety of ways, fans aren’t entirely convinced that this is actually the end for Snow. (Given the recent fake-out on “The Walking Dead,” they’re probably not wrong to be wary.)

The Season 6 trailer looks as dark and dire as the show has ever been, with Daenerys on the move, Cersei and Jaime reunited, Jon still dead and Melisandre coming clean about all those “visions” she’s been having. Also, Bran is back, which surely excites someone somewhere.

As to be expected, the trailer itself gives little in the way of narrative, but it stokes the excitement for the new season all the same, all while featuring the dulcet tones of James Vincent McMorrow’s cover of “Wicked Game.”

Season 6 of “Game of Thrones” debuts April 24 on HBO. Watch the trailer below.
