LOS ANGELES -- The funeral for Corey Haim will take place Tuesday in Toronto, according to a notice posted on Haim's MySpace page.
The notice said the service will be closed to the public and that Haim's family is asking for privacy during this time.
Haim's longtime friend, fellow child actor Corey Feldman, has said he won't be attending the funeral.
"In the days following my best friend Corey Haim's death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me," Feldman said in a statement.
"I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey's funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey's funeral on Tuesday a small private affair."
Meantime, L.A. County Coroner's officials say an official cause of death for Haim will not be available for another month.
On Friday, authorities said Haim had a fraudulent prescription for a powerful painkiller that was obtained through a major drug ring.
State Attorney General Jerry Brown has announced his office is investigating Haim's death, saying an unauthorized prescription in the actor's name was found during a probe of fraudulent drug-prescription pads ordered from a vendor in San Diego.
L.A. County Coroner's officials have recovered four prescription drug bottles from the home of actor Corey Haim but, found no illegal drugs during his death investigation.
All four of the prescriptions were in Haim's name.
The coroner refused to identify the drugs.
Haim, 38, died Wednesday after collapsing at his mother's home in University City. The former child star, who had a history of drug addiction, had been battling flu-like symptoms for several days before his death.
Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter says an autopsy has been performed but toxicology tests are needed to determine the exact cause of death. It could take months to get the results of those tests, Winter said.
Haim's mother, Judy Haim, told "Access Hollywood" the coroner's office said her son died of pulmonary congestion, that he had an enlarged heart and his lungs were filled with water.
The former actor collapsed in front of his mother around 1:00 a.m. March 10, 2009 inside an apartment in the Oakwood Apartment Complex, located between Burbank and the Hollywood Hills, officials said.
"As he got out of bed he felt a little weak and went down to the floor on his knees," Winter said..
His mother called paramedics and the actor was transported to Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m., Winter said.
Haim had been taking over-the-counter and prescription medications to battle his flu, Police Sgt. William Mann said.
The Canadian-born actor had struggled with drug addiction for many years.
