The Ovation Awards, L.A.’s biggest theater honors, were handed out Sunday at a ceremony at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse.

Center Theatre Group was the top winner of the evening with a total of 12 awards. The La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts won the award for best season. “The Nether,” a new drama by L.A. playwright Jennifer Haley that was presented at CTG’s Kirk Douglas Theatre, received seven Ovations, the most of any single production.

A production of the musical “Parade” by 3-D Theatricals in Fullerton won four awards, while “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,” which was produced at CTG’s Mark Taper Forum, won three.
