Britney Spears is taking time to care for herself after supporting her father and the rest of her family through his recent health struggles, which included a second surgery three weeks ago, The Times has confirmed. She’ll be away for 30 days.

“We all need to take a little ‘me time,’” the pop star wrote Wednesday on Instagram, posting a picture that read, “Fall in love with taking care of yourself, mind, body, spirit.”

Simultaneously, a source told People that Jamie Spears’ illness — a “life-threatening” colon rupture that required two surgeries — had “taken a toll” on his daughter.

“He’s not doing well,” the source said. “They’re so close and it has been a lot. There is nothing dramatic going on with her — she just realized she needs to make sure to take time to care for herself.”

A slightly more intense picture was painted by TMZ, which said Britney Spears was distraught over her dad’s health and last week had checked herself into a mental health facility where she planned to stay for about a month.

Jamie Spears’ health issues were mentioned as well by Page Six, which also reported that Britney was in a mental health facility.

“Britney hasn’t been drinking or doing drugs or anything, she just has some very difficult emotional and mental health issues,” a source allegedly close to the family told the paper. “She’s gone away to try with her issues before they get worse.”

The singer put her planned Vegas show “Domination” on hold late last year after her dad’s colon spontaneously ruptured and he spent a month in the hospital, and in January she declared the show was kaput.

“I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart,” she said on Instagram at the time. “However, it’s important to always put your family first… and that’s the decision I had to make. A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died. We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time.”

Jamie Spears has been Britney’s conservator since 2008, after the pop star had a very public mental-health meltdown. Since he’s been at the reins, she’s been doing better professionally and personally, by most accounts.

Britney Spears’ former fiance, Jason Trawick, was a co-conservator for a while in 2012, back when they were engaged, but he was taken off the roster in January 2013 after they broke it off.

In recent years, she’s been dating fitness entrepreneur Sam Asghari.
