‘Today’ show’s Jenna Wolfe, Stephanie Gosk welcome a baby girl

NBC’s Jenna Wolfe and Stephanie Gosk, who came out as an engaged couple when they announced in March that they were expecting, have welcomed a new baby girl.

“Fell madly in love w Harper Estelle tonight,” “Today” anchor Wolfe tweeted Wednesday night with a picture of the couple’s newborn. “Thx for the kind words and well wishes. Other than that I’m speechless.”

Harper Estelle Wolfeld Gosk -- Wolfe’s legal name is Wolfeld -- was born at 7:31 p.m. EDT Wednesday, according to People magazine, weighing in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces.

“Harper meets a set of grandparents ... And has very little to say about it,” Gosk tweeted Thursday, including a picture of that moment.

“Estelle is my grandmother’s name,” Wolfe told the magazine. “No matter what, we were always going to have Estelle and we fell in love with the Harper. It’s the perfect combination of athleticism, gentleness, kindness, beauty and a little TV moxie, so we figured it was perfect.”

(Of course, TV was part of the territory, with one mom an anchorwoman and the other an NBC foreign correspondent.)

Just Monday, Wolfe sent a note to her baby as part of a pregnancy blog she’s been writing. Little Harper must have heard about it somehow, because it read:

“Dear Baby Girl,

“I hate to rush you, but do you mind moving things along a little? Despite the fact that our due date isn’t for another week and a half, I thought we had a plan, me and you. I thought you were going to show up early, be swarmed by loving friends and family, nurse to your heart’s content and enjoy the fruits of your labor? (Get it? Labor?) You’ve been hinting it at it for the last few days… “

Two days later, voila!
