Jesse Tyler Ferguson took the first step toward a “Modern Family” of his own Saturday night in New York, marrying lawyer Justin Mikita.

“Top of the world. Top of the cake!” Ferguson, 37, tweeted Monday morning, including a photo of what we assume was his adorably customized cake topper.

Playwright-screenwriter Tony Kushner, the man behind “Angels in America” and “Lincoln,” officiated, Ferguson’s rep told People in confirming the wedding. The two got engaged in September after dating for about two years.

About 200 guests attended the ceremony at 82 Mercer, Us Weekly reported, including Zachary Quinto, Isaac Mizrahi, Padma Lakshmi, Nigel Barker, Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn, along with “Modern Family” cast members Eric Stonestreet, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell.

The after-party at the Crosby Street Hotel raged until 2 a.m., a source told the magazine. “Never been happier,” Ferguson wrote early Sunday morning. “XO Goodnight!”

Mikita, 27, noted an important distinction later on Sunday, tweeting, “Husband. Not partner. We’ve worked hard to call each other husband ... so let’s start using it. K thanks” and ending it with a heart icon.
