The rapper The Game was arrested Monday in connection with a violent encounter he had with an off-duty Los Angeles police officer this year.

The 35-year-old Compton native, whose legal name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, surrendered at the LAPD’s Hollywood Division about noon and was booked on suspicion of felony criminal threats, Officer Mike Lopez said.

Taylor posted $50,000 bail and was released a couple of hours later.

Lopez said Taylor’s arrest was in connection with a basketball game in March during which he punched an off-duty officer in the face. The incident was recorded and posted to YouTube, Lopez said.
