Mainstream: Nominated for two Academy Awards for writing and starring in “Rocky.” The movie was a critical and box office smash. Downside: He didn’t win. Porn proper: She has been called the most popular porn star ever. When she finally gained the industry’s notice, she won all of the top newcomer awards before becoming a $25,000-a-day performer in both strip clubs and on screen.

Mainstream: Club Jenna, her multimedia company, was recently reported as a $30-million-a-year entity backing other sites and making movies.
