Ben Stiller plays a depressed man trying to figure out his life while staying at his brother's house in Los Angeles. He meets his brother's personal assistant, played by Greta Gerwig, and awkward romantic entanglements ensue. Oscar potential: After years of doing broad family comedies, Stiller veers into edgier territory. Could a nomination be his reward for years of consistently good box office? Writer-director Noah Baumbach, who was previously nominated for his screenplay for "The Squid and the Whale," could see a return appearance for this script, which he co-wrote with his wife, Jennifer Jason Leigh.
