'The Dark Knight Rises'

While "The Dark Knight" did not get nominated for best picture, many felt that it should have been. And just because it's a threequel doesn't mean it should be counted out. It wasn't until "The Return of the King" that Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" films finally got the best picture gold. With up to 10 pics nominated for best picture these days and director Christopher Nolan's reputation at a high, it's possible this conclusion of the trilogy will show up in the race next year.
