By attracting the ire of the National Federation of the Blind, “Blindness” has proven that it’s more than a well-respected book and a lot of award winners. It’s something you shouldn’t see. Which, of course, makes it all the more watchable.<br>

Is the public sick and tired of being pandered to with cute talking animals causing humans to trip, fall, hit their heads or otherwise engage in humiliating slapstick? Will any special interest group decide to protest this movie? Animal rights groups? Fur-loving college graduates? The silence seems to indicate a tacit endorsement.<br>
