Celebrity death hoaxes - Bill Cosby

In case you hadn't heard, Bill Cosby is alive and well. The comedian was just the latest celebrity to undergo the Google Age ritual of death hoaxes. The most recent hoax -- courtesy of an "R.I.P. Bill Cosby" Facebook page in August 2012 -- garnered only a tweet of a trademark sweater from the man himself and no mention whatsoever of the scam, which is a distinct change from Cosby's reaction to a similar hoax that trended back in 2010, when Cosby called in to "Larry King Live" to chat about that Twitter-propagated death hoax. "Emotional friends have called about this misinformation," he said on his own Twitter account. "To the people behind the foolishness, I'm not sure you see how upsetting this is." The 2012 hoax is the fifth time it's happened, and, at least for the veteran comedian, it's just not funny anymore. Cosby is just the latest celebrity to fall victim to a death hoax.
