Drew Barrymore goes from rom-com to tragic, crazy cat lady

Some find the way Barrymore pursed lips and the way she talks out of one side of her mouth endearing, perfect for romantic comedies like "He's Just Not That Into You," "Music and Lyrics" and "Fever Pitch." But for a serious HBO remake of "Grey Gardens"? "Grey Gardens" director Michael Sucsy wasn't initially convinced. “Listen,” Sucsy said, of his thoughts at the time: “I’ve worked with Drew now. How shall I say this? She was not proven in this genre!” (He has since changed his mind.) Audiences will soon be able to weigh in for themselves on whether Barrymore convinces as the crazy-fabulous Edith "Little Edie" Bouvier Beale.
