Paul Walker: "Noel," a holiday movie about strangers who meet through through a series of events on Christmas Eye, was released in theaters briefly before premiering on TNT. Schmaltz rating: 10 out of 10. Wipeout Vin Diesel:: "The Chronicles of Riddick." Variety's critic said the big-budget sci-fi film "may not quite gain entry to the hallowed pantheon of interstellar cheese of a 'Battlefield Earth,' but it's not far behind." The summer movie didn't make it past the $60-million mark in the U.S. Wipeout Michelle Rodriguez: "Control," about a convict (played by Ray Liotta) who agrees to undergo behavior modification and reentry into society under a false identity, went directly to DVD shelves. Rodriguez played Liotta's colleague and love interest. The actress that year also lent her voice to the video games "Driv3r" and "Halo 2." Stalled Jordana Brewster: "D.E.B.S.," an action-comedy parodying "Charlies Angels" based on a short film of the same name, showed at the Sundance Film Festival before making less than $100,000 in theaters.
