HBO is back in the Emmy race big time this year, earning 104 nominations Thursday morning. Among the top contenders: Kate Winslet's Depression-era miniseries "Mildred Pierce," Steve Buscemi's Prohibition drama "Boardwalk Empire" and Sean Bean's fantasy newcomer "Game of Thrones" (above, with Peter Dinklage). Other big contenders hoping to sweep at the Sept. 18 ceremony include "Mad Men," "Modern Family" and "Saturday Night Live." The announcement gave many in the biz a reason to celebrate, but as always, there were a few glaring snubs.
