OVERRATED: Regional reality programming

With "Jersey Shore" now just a fake-tanned memory, networks are scrambling for a new neighborhood to exploit. What will win our hearts? The circus of Venice Beach Boardwalk characters in AMC's "Freakshow"? Or the cartoonish family in "Southie Rules," a show supposedly about Boston gentrification that's just another example of how low people will go for TV fame. Seems we lose either way.
