"The Return of Jezebel James"

The project: Amy Sherman-Palladino’s kiss-off to The CW, “The Return of Jezebel James” The buildup: If you’re like us, you really miss Amy Sherman-Palladino and the signature style that made “Gilmore Girls” a hit with young audiences and critics alike. “Jezebel” would showcase her sitcom in a story about estranged sisters (played by Parker Posey and Lauren Ambrose) brought together when one asks the other to carry her baby. Hit or miss: Miss. Sitcoms don’t suit Sherman-Palladino, whose rapid-fire wit was perhaps lost in the laugh-track format. The show lasted just three episodes before getting yanked.
