By Patrick Day, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer Since the announcement last summer of Justice League of America as a Warner Bros. project in development, it has become one of the most speculated about and highly anticipated comic book films to date. Finally, it seems, the Batman fans, the Superman fans and the Wonder Woman buffs can set aside their petty differences and work together toward the common good. But first they have to get over the casting hurdle. For many fans, Christian Bale is Batman and Brandon Routh is Superman. Cast someone else in those parts for Justice League and you risk causing a rift in continuity and possibly space-time. And then theres the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter. Director George Miller, of Mad Max and Happy Feet fame, hasnt signed anybody yet, but one famous face has already officially passed: Jessica Biel will not be playing Wonder Woman. So the hunt goes on. This got us thinking about how other directors might prefer to fill out those coveted uniforms.
