'Body Double' (1984) Plot: A house-sitting actor (Craig Wasson) observes a nude woman through a telescope and thinks he witnesses a murder in the process. Remake of: The plot contains strong elements of "Rear Window," "Vertigo" and "Dial M For Murder." Credit? Director Brian De Palma has spent years trying to live down his early Hitchcockian homages. But at the time this one came out, he was fully embracing his love of the suspense master. Since he lifted plot elements from many Hitchcock films, this qualified as "homage" instead of "remake," so no on-screen credits were necessary.
