In this Guillermo del Toro-written and -produced film, young actress Bailee Madison plays Sally, a little girl who moves into the Gothic mansion her father (Guy Pearce) and his girlfriend (Katie Holmes) are restoring. Sally starts hearing raspy whispers calling her name, beckoning her to a sealed grate. Her loneliness and curiosity get the better of her, and she is soon terrorized by a host of sadistic fairies who live in the shadows and want to eat her teeth.
